Carpenter-Carse Library


Carpenter-Carse Library
The library is located on 69 Ballards Corner Road, behind Ballards Store off the corner of Route 116 and Shelburne Falls Road. Library staff are currently working on automating its lending system and also its entire catalog. The library also maintains its own website, posting helpful information and links, including one to the Vermont Department of Libraries Catalog.

  Monday, 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
  Tuesday and Thursday, 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.
  Wednesday and Friday, 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
  Saturday, 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m (to 2:00 p.m. June - August)
  Sunday, closed.

Library Services
  • Public Computers: The Library maintains a cluster of four workstations featuring DSL service for Internet access as well as an array of office applications on each machine. The Library also offers use of a scanner. A printer is available for ten cents per copy.
  • The Library Outreach service delivers materials to your home; please call for delivery.
  • Large-print books, tapes, videos, and audio cassettes are available.
  • Inter-library loans (statewide and nationwide) are available for materials not owned by Carpenter-Carse.
  • A Community Room is available for public use, limited to non-profit groups. Please see the Library's website, or call the Library for more information.
  • Avid readers may join the Library's book discussion group which meets monthly. Please call Earla Sue McNaull at 482-3347 for more information.
  • Annual Summer Reading Program for children ages 6 to 12.
