Recreation Commission Meeting Minutes

December 8, 2009

Meeting Attendance: Pete Cahn, Tom Giroux, Carrie Harlow, Jen McCuin, Karen Tronsgard-Scott and Frank Twarog.

Discussed computer/internet safety for children and how parents can monitor usage and various sites for children at various ages.

Approved November Meeting Minutes

Reviewed Summery of Parcels - On the agenda for the 1/4/10 Select Board meeting to recommend moving forward on purchasing land for recreation development.

Winter Carnival Planning

Tom does not have a confirmed band for Winter Carnival Dance. Will continue looking and update.

Jen confirms $400 budget for band.

Jen does not have a commitment from CVU Key Club with 10-15 student volunteers yet. It is recommended that 12/15 is the deadline for committed volunteers to move forward on advertising for the event.

Karen will ask Elliot to put together a selection of songs for the rink event.

Tom will contact someone to use speakers for music at rink or in gym.

Tom will contact HCS to use a screen for the movie in the cafeteria and speak to Matt Kihm about using a projector/DVD to run the movie.

Once final plans are confirmed, Jen will begin advertising the Dance and Kids Event.
