The Hinesburg Town Plan is the principal policy statement for the Town of Hinesburg, presenting a snapshot
of existing conditions and a vision for the future. It serves as the framework for the decisions that will
guide the Town's growth in the next 5 year planning period as well as the longer term horizon. It outlines
a vision through a set of goals and objectives that will be implemented as recommended
in the Plan.
The Plan is directly used by the Hinesburg Planning Commission, Selectboard, Development Review Board,
Conservation Commission, as well as regional and state agencies. It is also meant as a guide to individuals
and other organizations for decisions affecting the Town. Specific uses and purposes of the Plan include:
- a framework for planning the future of the Town
- to guide decision-making in development review
- the basis for revisions to Zoning and Subdivision Bylaws
- the basis for a capital budget and plan
- to serve as a policy document in the Act 250 process and other regulatory proceedings
- to recommend studies to address specific Town issues
The Hinesburg Planning Commission will hold a Public Hearing at Town Hall
on Wednesday, September 12, 2012, at 7:30 p.m. to receive public comment on proposed
changes to:
- 1) Town Plan - last revised May 16, 2011
- 2) Zoning Regulations – last revised October 17, 2011
- 3) Subdivision Regulations – last revised May 16, 2011
